September, October, and November present you with lush green fields and
people busy with the harvest. In the springtime, April and May, the
mountains are ablaze with color. Forty-two species of rhododendrons cover
the hillsides and the forests are alive with a cacophony of bird sounds.

Be mindful of the rainy season, which lasts from July to late August.
Winters (mid-November to mid-March) can restrict travel on some mountain
paths, though snow is not common in the more populated valleys like THIMPHU
and Paro. Low season rates can attract travelers looking for a more quiet
retreat, but bring your woolies.
